No one is more surprised than we are that we LOVED Bumblebee! That’s right, it’s a Transformers movie, but it’s also a surprisingly charming, touching YA novel about a girl and her shitty car-slash-adorable robot friend. Recommended (or at least discussed)
Watching Shrill on Hulu made us get just a little bit shrill ourselves, to be honest. There were things we liked a lot and felt a good connection to but also… there were other parts. Recommendations: We Set the Dark on Fire by Tehlor Kay Mejia Yoshi’s Crafted World
Not an April Fool’s joke, we have finally moved, unpacked our robot friend Squeaks, and recorded a new episode! We watched a Netflix documentary about Canadian cat shows, and it was a nice way to ease back in to the weirdness of the internet. Recommended: Books by Cat Sebastian Eufy 11s not-a-roomba roomba Thimbleweed Park
We finally got around to Solo: A Star Wars Story and hoo boy! We have a lot of feelings! We love Star Wars, and we love Han Solo, but we do not love prequels, and we did not love this movie. It could have been a romp! Instead it is a *womp womp* noise.
We loved this show so darned much we watched all four seasons before we recorded, and that’s why it’s a little late. Whoops! Becky is so excited that she would like to discuss everything that happened in every episode, and Rachel has her very hottest take ever. Recommended this week: Leigh Bardugo: King of Scars… Continue reading Rachel and Becky Judge Things Episode 33: Schitt’s Creek
Boy, well, wow, this sure is a movie that exists! We didn’t hate every single part of this movie, and… uh, that’s about as much positivity as we can find, because of two words that I am very sorry to type here: puppet ejaculation. But hey, Maya Rudolph is really great. Recommended: Tales of Vesperia… Continue reading Rachel and Becky Judge Things Episode 32: The Happytime Murders
Did Tidying Up with Marie Kondo spark joy for us? Ehhhhh not really for lots of reasons, but you know what did? Both of the Fyre Fraud documentaries. Join us, won’t you? Recommended this week: New SuperMario Bros U ContraPoints: Are Traps Gay?
Come hang out with us on Love Island, where everyone is beautiful and stupid and their idea of the apocalypse is called “The Recoupling.” We watched more of this show than we expected to, and we have strong feelings about it — even if Rachel somehow thought every man there was named Jack. We… Continue reading Rachel and Becky Judge Things Episode 30: Love Island
We watched Netflix Christmas movies so you don’t have to. Kidding: we know you watched them, too. We watched A Christmas Prince: A Royal Wedding, and The Princess Switch starring Vanessa Hudgens and Vanessa Hudgens. (What did it have to do with Christmas???) Is this the year we finally learn what makes Christmas so special?… Continue reading Rachel and Becky Judge Things Episode 29: Christmas on Netflix
Just like everyone else this week, we watched She-ra! Neither of us can remember a darned thing from the original which we were just barely alive for, so this was a pretty fun treat, especially the outfit Catra wears to Princess Prom, which is the first time in her entire life Becky has wanted to… Continue reading Rachel and Becky Judge Things Episode 28: She-ra
